Futsal and Shots

I just got back from futsal practice with the women from my ward tonight. I really should be getting to bed, but I wanted to leave a quick note. For anyone wondering, futsal is indoor soccer. We have our first game tomorrow night and we are getting all geared up for it. It's lots of fun. I actually scored a goal tonight, I hope I can score more tomorrow. Sports has been a big thing for the women in my ward. We usually have enough for two teams with whatever sport we're playing, but the fact that we have the biggest ward in the stake makes a difference too.

Eli had his 2 month check-up today along with all those dang shots. He's actually been really good with it and has slept most of the day. I sure hope he sleeps tonight, so far he's doing good. He weighed in at 10lbs 13 oz and 23 3/4 inches today. He could be eating more and gaining better. Kevin will be done with his class tomorrow night and Liz will be done with school in a few weeks. The summer is fast approaching and I can't wait till allergy season has past.

Eli Smiles

I absolutely love it when new babies begin to smile. It warms my heart! Eli is smiling more and more, and thanks to blogs and digital cameras I can share those moments with you easily. Eli is so precious. It is wonderful to have him a part of our family. He's growing fast already.
Kevin can make him coo alot. He wants to talk so bad. He concentrates on faces very well especially mouths.

Taxes and Peaches

It's April 16th already. That means that tax season is finally over, wahoo! I didn't file as many as I did last year, but with adjusting to life with a new baby in the middle of it didn't make it any less stressful. Spring is in the air and it makes me excited for summer break. Elizabeth is excited to go to the pool again, she's our little fish, and I'm excited for summer play and vacations. Kevin and I have been called as the Youth Conference Coordinators for the ward, which will happen this summer as well. We are excited for the new call, I love working with the youth, I have missed it. So if anyone has any fun ideas for themes and activities, we need all the help we can get.

Last Saturday we planted a peach tree. Kevin really worked hard digging the hole for it. There is so much rock in our yard. Kevin says at least we are safe if ever we have an earthquake. I'm thrilled about having a peach tree. Hopefully by next fall we will have some fresh peaches to enjoy.

A good scare

Hello everyone! It's been a good day today. It was an absolute gorgeous day in St. George, but a very windy and cold one in Hurricane. It's been very windy lately here, as we are reminded how Hurricane got it's name. But everything is blossoming and growing around us. It is beautiful! I absolutely love springtime as long as I can survive the allergies. I have to tell you a funny story, it's funny to me anyway. You just had to be there. OK, so I get home from my evening walk with my friends, Katie & Marie, and we, like all females do, started talking and talking about random things and suddenly the trash can that was sitting by the car in the driveway tipped over, and it startled us. I immediately thought that Kevin must be behind it and he'll come out and scream to scare us any second now. He just does things like that. Well, we looked and waited, but nothing happened. So I thought it must have just been the wind or something strange. So we keep talking and sharing stories and a few minutes later a rock comes flying towards us out of no where. We were thinking "what is going on? Rocks don't just do that. There has to be someone back there throwing rocks, but where are they?" We waited a minute and when nothing happened we continued our conversation, and then it happened again, and again nothing. Now, you have to realize it's dark outside with dark shadows everywhere. So we creep along the street with great anticipation, waiting for another rock or someone to jump out and scream. When I got to the end of the driveway another rock shot through the air and it startled me from all the anticipation, then Kevin jumps our from behind the car and scares us half to death. Geese, he had a lot of patience to sit there that long, you know how long women can talk. But he got a good laugh out of it. He scared us pretty good.

Family

Eli's Blessing

Hello family and friends. We had the wonderful oppurtunity to bless Eli last sunday March 30th. He slept through the entire blessing luckily and decided to leave his mouth wide open the whole time. He looked sharp in his white shirt and red tie with khaki pants. We decided not to do the traditional all white dress, we figured we might as well get him an outfit he can wear for awhile and save the thirty bucks. Maybe for the girls it is ok but we went for the missionary look. Maybe it is just me but it seems like what the baby is wearing has become more important than the blessing. Anyway, I will step down off my soap box now. It was a wonderful day and we were glad to have the grandparents and other family there to support Eli. I wish the rest of the family lived closer but with gas prices the way they are it is such a financial burden to travel. We thought of you all and maybe someday we will be closer together as soon as you realize that Utah is the greatest place to live.
