Soaring Gas Prices, amongst other things. . .

Just look at that price! Never in a million years did I ever think I would have to pay this much for one gallon of gas. If you're like me, and I'm sure you are, you have reached a breaking point. No longer do I go for a leisurely drive or take a spontaneous trip. My trips into St. George just to go to Wal-Mart are now further in between and I have to plan shopping trips and spend more at one time so I don't have to keep coming to the store. If you're like me, and I'm sure you are, you will benefit from something that I discovered. Someone had emailed me a list of things to do to help the gas go a little further. It was well worth a try. Last week I did a couple of things just to see if it would make a difference and I am so happy to say that I did honestly notice a difference. You see, gas turns to vapor and by not filling your car in the heat of the afternoon it won't turn to vapor as fast. Also don't pump the gas at the fastest speed or it can vaporize as well. I pumped around 9 am, before it was hot and set it at the slowest speed. It did take a while, but my patience paid off. The tank in our van usually takes 20 gallons to fill up. I started with a pretty empty tank, slowly pumped 10 gallons in it and I was so excited to see that the tank was over the 3/4 mark. I figure I could have "paid" for an extra 3 gallons and it would have been full. I'd much rather pay for 13 gallons than 20 at these prices, so I think I'll be pumping slowly from now on. Patience is a virtue, my friends! Give it a try and let me know if you see a difference.
